Arnt we so privileged! just to enter the world of ferns is always spectacular, but especially narrowing it down to one of my favourites the Polystitchum acueleatum (Hard Shield Fern). It is one of the three from the family of Polystitchum we have in the UK.

I can find it all over the place LOCALLY! but the best concentration for me just has to be on Uberash Roughs on Hutton Roof Common. Here I might also be lucky to also find the other two Polystitchum ferns if I am lucky.  

But what a place! and tucked away from the general views and not at all wanting to show their beauty without some sort of effort, and whilst being protected by the many limestone grykes, there they are just fanning their fronds
